I woke up at 6am. Maddy was crying but when I gave her a little milk she went right back to sleep. I got showered and ready and then Doug woke up and got ready while Abi watched cartoons.
When Abi woke up she had a little prize from Mary Poppins giving a clue as to what we would be doing this morning.
When Maddy woke up again, I gave her a bath and got her dressed and then gave Abi a bath and got her dressed in her Alice dress that I had made.
We drove back over to the glorious Grand Floridian...
I took that picture from the second story so I could get the tree and big birdcage as well as the giant gingerbread house in it. That gingerbread house is made of real gingerbread! They sell gingerbread out of it!
So, why are we back at this hotel?
We were going to the Mary Poppins breakfast at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian!
This is such a fun themed restaurant. It is buffet style and a character meal so it's a little loud and hectic but lots of fun. Abi was very excited when she saw Pooh Bear, Tigger, and Alice wandering around.
Doug took this little video when we first sat down. You can see in the first few seconds why we call Maddy 'grabby hands'.
I had eggs, bacon, sausage, and strawberry soup. It was all very yummy.
Abi had Mickey waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, and breakfast pizza.
I gave Maddy some Mickey waffles and eggs which she loved and some yogurt which she did not.
Doug had eggs, bacon, strawberry soup with some toppings on it, and a made to order omelet.
Our first visitor was Winnie the Pooh. I wasn't sure yet how Abi would handle the characters because she has been scared of them in the past but she was great with most of them. She hugged Winnie the Pooh right away.
Maddy was very intrigued by him.
Here are some interior shots of the place...
Tigger came along next. He was pretty silly.
Luckily Abi wasn't afraid of him because he gave her a huge hug!
He made Maddy mad though and this is when she stopped thinking these big characters were cool.
"Mom, I don't like that!"
Then Mary Poppins showed up!
She called Abi "Alice". She was so sweet and beautiful and both girls were quite taken with her.
And then this was the moment when Abi decided she didn't like the Mad Hatter. It was crazy. She wouldn't even look at him and was trying to hide behind Maddy, which made Maddy angry. He was very sarcastic and funny and made jokes about it.
Of course, Maddy took advantage of Abi practically being in her lap to pull her hair- one of her favorite past times.
You can watch the video below for the Mad Hatters comments on Abi and the hair pulling.
Finally, Alice visited us!
Abi was so excited!
Alice was really sweet and talked a lot with Abi.
I loved this!
I don't even know what they were talking about here but Abi was talking a lot!
Of course there had to be a hug!
Alice said hello to Maddy as well but called her "little flower".
Right before we left when Doug was sitting on the other side of the table for a minute, Winnie the Pooh came back over and gave him a surprise hug. I tried to get a picture but wasn't fast enough..
a little more restaurant decor...
I wanted to get a picture of Abi next to the Mary Poppins topiary. This was when we found out it was raining outside.
Abi hurried back in and we decided to let her watch cartoons for a while to see if it would stop raining.
Maddy wandered around while Abi watched cartoons...
I took this picture of the GF beach because if you look out across the lake you can see the Polynesian beach that we were at the night before.
Disney magic is in the details! I loved this carriage on the staircase..
You can also see behind Maddy that there is a circle in the floor design. If you look closely you might be able to tell that it is Prince Charming and Cinderella silhouetted in that circle.
It did stop raining so we headed out taking pictures in their great carriage on our way.
Doug had found out that the temple was really close so we decided to go check it out.
First we went to church across the street and I got this picture on our way back over to the Temple...
We had such fun exploring the Temple grounds...
It was such a beautiful temple and so peaceful.
Next up: part two- a scavenger hunt and my parents arrive!
