The excitement was beyond compare on Monday December 13th as we got ready for Abi's birthday. She slept in a little later than we did and we had to wake her up so we could get over to the Magic Kingdom early. She had an 8:00 am appointment with the fairy godmothers in training at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique inside of Cinderella's castle.
We slowly woke her up singing Happy Birthday to her. She got pretty excited when she woke up and saw her Birthday sign on the wall above her bed and the gift that the Fairy Godmother had left on the bedside table.
It was a pair of pink sparkly shoes and a note that said she would receive her special gown when she arrived.
Abi asked if she could open one gift and we let her open a Dora book.
Then it was a rush to get her dressed. I had her wear a tee shirt that I ironed on a Birthday girl Minnie Mouse head with one of her favorite polka dot skirts.
Here she is looking at her Dora book....
We got into the park pretty quickly and made our way to the castle. We had to wait for a few minutes for the Boutique to open up but spent those minutes looking at the mosaics that are all over inside the tunnel that goes through the castle. They are amazing.
Then we got to go in and check in. I tried to get a few pictures of the details of the place.
A very sweet Fairy Godmother In Training took us back to the back of the Boutique where they have the changing rooms. She had Abi say "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo"! with her and then opened up the blue curtain to reveal what the 'Fairy Godmother' had left for her.
I couldn't wait to see Abi's reaction to the dress. She loved it. With Abi, if you don't know her well, it is sometimes hard to tell about things like this. She doesn't scream or jump up and down. She gets a little smile and then saves it for a few minutes later when she will be so happy. This was no exception. She looked at it for a minute and then said she loved it.
We quickly changed her into the dress.
Then we were able to go out and meet her personal Fairy Godmother in Training Maria. The Boutique is also full of Photo Pass photographers and so she had her own guy. He took all the fancy bordered pictures while the other ones came from our camera...

preparing Abi for her transformation into a princess...

here they were talking about how sparkly her shoes were...
Maria let Abi pick which color comb she wanted and Abi picked blue. I was so giddy by this point because this was the thing I was most looking forward to. So many of the people were telling me how beautiful her dress was and I just felt so happy knowing we were able to do this for Abi because she felt so special.
Here Maria was showing Abi the different hairstyles she could get so that she could pick one. I was so happy that she wanted the princess bun because I really don't like their other options with colorful extensions.

I just love this sweet little face. I think girls look so much younger when their hair is all pulled back from their faces.

the guy also got a few pictures of Maddy...

As soon as her hair was slicked back (they use a ton of product) Abi was able to choose a tiara and Maria put that in.

the finished bun...
They also gave her a sparkly little Mickey head pin in the back of her hair. Then she got to pick pink or blue nail polish. She chose pink.
She got a little pixie dust on her hair....

some make up applied...
and she was finally ready for the big reveal!
Our little princess... wondering what she is going to look like.

They put on her sash and then turned her around so she could see herself. She just stared. I think she was trying to figure out if that was really herself in the mirror. Then they used the mirror to show her the back of her hair...

Once she hopped down out of the chair the excitement began to show. She was so happy as she ran up to Maddy.
It was very cold this morning so she did have to wear her coat all the time over her dress. We were really glad it matched!
I wanted to get a picture of her in front of this Cinderella fountain before we went into her photo shoot. If you crouch down when you take the picture (as I did) then the crown on the wall behind the Cinderella statue appears to be resting on her head.
Abi's little bag of goodies she is holding held her comb, the makeup they used, some leftover face sequins, and both the pink and blue nail polish. They also asked her as we were leaving who her favorite princess was and when she told them it was Aurora they gave her the Aurora stickers seen below. This picture also shows the bag it all came in, her invitation to the Boutique, her birthday pin, the tiara and pin she had in her hair, a ring she would recieve later in the day, and the Wishing Stars we would get at breakfast.
This was a truly magical experience.
