Disney World Day 10: Downtown Disney Marketplace

We thought that Friday would be a good day to go to Downtown Disney and do some shopping.
Unfortunately it was extremely crowded.
We slept in until 7:30 which was very nice but by the time we all got ready and rode the bus over I'm afraid we must have missed the window of less crowds.
I was so excited when we arrived...

I feel bad thinking about it now though because I was pretty cranky. I think we were all so wiped out from the night before that it had carried over to this day. My dad was smart and decided not to come because I don't think he would have enjoyed the crowds at all.
We stopped by the Christmas store first and I was able to get our ornaments for this year.

I got the 2010 one and the castle for our family tree, the Minnie Mouse one for Maddy, and Abi picked out the Alice in Wonderland one for herself.

We then went into Goofy's Candy Company and made treats. You fill out this card with the kind of treat you want, what kind of chocolate you want it dipped into, and the topping. I made a rice krispie treat dipped in milk chocolate and peanut butter cups. It was so good but huge.
Abi picked a gingerbread cookie dipped in milk chocolate and sprinkles.
here she is watching them make it...

This sign reminded us of Jelly Belly...

We took a little break outside so Abi could try her cookie. She liked it but didn't get anywhere near finishing it.

Next we stopped by the toy stores- Once Upon a Toy and World of Disney. They are huge and full of just about everything you can imagine.

They have these Mr. Potato Head stations that have parts for the potato heads that you don't see anywhere else and you can fill up these boxes with parts. You can get however many you can fit in that box for the price. Abi loved this and it is played with all the time now at home. I overstuffed the box so that it barely closed and it was okay. They just taped it shut.
Here are all of our parts along with a carriage we picked up.

We got a few Christmas items and then decided to go over to the Lego store.

This family stands outside the store. Yes, it's all made of Legos..

This dragon is made all out of Legos as well. It was really cool.

We had big plans for going to this sandwich shop that sounded great for lunch but it was way too crowded and that's when the crankiness went way, way up. We were all hungry and tired and had been dealing with the crowds and I didn't handle it well.
We just decided to catch the bus back to Pop. I'm glad we did this because the stress level went way down. We got my dad and he hadn't eaten yet so we all went back to the food court for lunch.

Then we split up so we could all go rest in our rooms for a while.
I got this picture on the way back to our room. Abi was up in the number and jumped down to Doug right when I took the picture.
It is one of my favorites.

Next up: Beaches and Cream and the Kitchen Sink

Those disney potato head parts are so cool. They really drenched Abi's cookie in chocolate. Yum!
