I am finally posting about our latest Disney trip we took in November to celebrate Madeline's 5th birthday!
We woke up early on November 13th and set up a big reveal and breakfast and waited for them to wake up.
We were so excited to finally tell the girls we were going to Disney World again!
This is the reveal set up.
Not everything here is new. I stole a lot of the girls stuffed animals and toys out of their room to set up to make it look really fun.
I set out doughnuts for breakfast in the shapes of Mickey heads and put them on polka dot plates as a little hint.
Doug sat down and started talking to them.
He was talking about the most random stuff and I was giving him the stink eye- get to the good stuff! Ha. Finally he says, " I don't feel like going to work today. We should go do something fun."
Abi said, "That wouldn't be fair if you all get to go do something and I have to go to school!"
And Doug said, "You can play hooky too."
So then he asked them, "So where should we go?"
They both piped up "Disney World!"
So we said, "Okay. Let's go to Disney World."
They made these faces....
But they didn't believe us.
I got up and said, "Come on. Let's go!"
They followed me to our room and later told me they thought we were just pretending.
Then they saw the set up.
They kept asking, "Is this for real?"
Abi then would say, "Catch me! I think I'm going to faint!"
Maddy got her backpack and started looking through all of her travel activities.
Abi got on the bed and just stared at everything still saying she couldn't believe it.
Then Doug said, "Come on guys! We have to go! Get dressed!"
I got them dressed in the shirts that I made that said we were going to Disney World paired with the skirts I made for our last trip (still fit but just short) with leggings underneath them.
I packed a TON of stuff.
Our last trip we weren't expecting the freezing cold so I wanted to prepared this time just in case.
Spoiler alert: It was good I was prepared. I will leave it at that for now.
We had the girls wear their winter coats since it was cold here in Utah and that way they wouldn't have to take up room in the suitcases.
But I still packed one big suitcase and one smaller suitcase that we checked and then 4 small ones that we carried on. Plus each girl had a backpack full of their flight activities and Doug and I each had one too.
It was one packed van!
We got a picture of them on our way to the van.
Maddy was so excited that we were going there for her birthday!
We worked out with my brother that we would drive to his house since he lives near the airport and then he would drop us off and then take our van back to his house until we got back.
Abi was still somewhat skeptical until we got to the airport.
She was in charge of her suitcase for carry on and her backpack.
Maddy was in charge of her backpack.
And Doug and I stumbled through the airport until we could check in the two bags. Then it was much easier.
My parents met us at the gate so they could give the girls one more surprise- that they were coming with us again!
They were SO excited!
Soon we were boarding our flight to Florida. Everyone was happy to be on the plane except for me and my dad because we are both afraid of flying... but we were happy to be on our way!
Maddy kept entertained the whole flight with coloring and playing with toys.
Abi was awesome and did her homework packet from school the entire flight. (It was a big packet.)
Soon we were landing in Orlando!
We made our way through the airport and to Magic Express.
Our magic bands worked perfectly and we were the first in line for Pop Century's bus.
The first two rows were reserved but we got to be in the ones behind them so we had good seats.
As we were leaving I noticed I had a couple of messages and so I listened to them. It was maddy's doctor saying that she had the beginning of a UTI (we had been to her office the day before) and I would need to get her a prescription. I was a little stressed not knowing how I was going to get the medicine and how we were going to work it into our timeline.
Soon we were making our way under the big sign!
And then we saw our first sign for POP!
We got off the bus and the girls played with the big blocks while we waited for our luggage. This would only be our carry on as they have a free service that delivers your checked luggage from the plane to your room.
We were so excited to be back in shiny pretty, clean Pop Century.
The girls went into the play area while I checked in.
I had the weight taken off my shoulders as I was told that there was a pharmacy that delivers to the hotel for free and I wouldn't have to be there to get it. I could just pick it up at the front desk when we got back from our dinner reservations.
I called and ordered it from the pharmacy but since it was going to be pretty expensive the pharmacist recommended doing it half time since it wasn't a full blown uti and that saved us a lot of money.
When we were told our room I thought it sounded somewhat familiar.
We got all of our requests.

We walked back to the seventies building and passed our old friend Mickey.
I told Abi how we were right next to this last time and she had loved playing on the big soccer ball. So she jumped right on again.
Then we got to our room.
It was the EXACT SAME room we had last time.
We couldn't believe it!
It was pretty exciting.
We even had a Mickey towel!
